The Columbia County Civic Orchestra will start its new season with a new name.
The organization, created in 2008, is now the Columbia County Orchestra and will encompass the orchestra’s chamber groups.
“People were just getting confused,” music director Rob Nordan said of the old name. “It’s just easier to call it all Columbia County Orchestra.”
The orchestra’s 2012-2013 season kicks off with a performance at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center in the Columbia County Library.
