Athletics and academics were important factors for Lakeside High School swimmer Rebecca Pakradooni when the time came for choosing a college.
Pakradooni, 18, signed a letter of intent to swim at Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, Ohio. She hopes to attend medical school there.
“I’m not really used to being far away from home, but traveling doesn’t bother me,” she said. “And the cold? I’m fine with. I love the cold.”
Pakradooni, whose best strokes are freestyle and butterfly, began swimming competitively at age 7 on a summer league team.
