A second show has been added for the Lady Antebellum Own the Night tour coming to Augusta in May.

Tickets sold out in three minutes this morning for the country supergroup’s May 22 concert at the James Brown Arena.

That demand prompted promoters to add a second show on May 23.

Those tickets go on sale at noon. Tickets can be purchased online at georgialinatix.com, by calling 1-877-4-AUGTIX, or at the James Brown Area Box Office.

The tour will also feature Thompson Square.

A man stole a bike Wednesday from the Evans Walmart by hopping on and riding it out of the store.

The manager of the store told Columbia County sheriff’s deputies that the 18-year-old was riding the Mongoose Rebel in the store and then rode it outside when employees tried to stop him.

However, employees found a 24-year-old Evans woman the teen came with still in the store. When they told her what happened, she called the teen and he returned the bike.

Brandon Wilde retirement community executives on Wednesday started tearing down a seemingly forgotten set of homes nestled in the woods west of the Evans complex to make way for new facilities meant to help those with trouble trying to remember.

Columbia County officials took action Tuesday to end a relationship with a contractor they said was taking too long on a stormwater project in Springlakes.

County Water Utility Director Bill Clayton told members of the county Public Works Services Committee last week that he sent a notice of termination to Jeffery Harris Trucking to stop work on a culvert replacement project on Sandalwood Drive in the Martinez neighborhood.

The deadline to finish the project was Friday, but Clayton said that only about half of the work had been completed.
